Diagonal Wall

Diagonal Wall (DW) describes a body position or direction of dancing movement in ballroom dancing. The Line of Dance (LOD) in the United States is always counterclockwise along the outside of the room near the four walls. A dance couple moves parallel to the wall in this counterclockwise Line of Dance (LOD) movement. If the couple stops and the man faces the wall, this would be called Wall. If you split the angle between the direction of Line of Dance (LOD) and the direction of facing the Wall (W), you get Diagonal Wall (DW).

Learning to orient you and your dancing partner in the eight main ballroom dancing directions helps you learn basic ballroom dance figures so that you will be in the right place, hopefully at the right time, and in the right position.
