Wayne Abbey

Taking private dance lessons is undoubtably the fastest way to learn how to ballroom dance. However, it is also the most expensive way to do it. My primary philosophy is to learn the basics in group lessons and dance teaching videos and then later refine this basic knowledge in private lessons. You learn more when your mind is prepared. These private lessons are then very valuable and often result in major realizations and improvements. We believe that they are worth it.

Wayne Abbey is a considerate and concerned dance instructor. He has been teaching dance in Atlanta since 1986 and has more than fifteen years in Pro-Am competition, teaching individuals, couples and group instruction. Linda and I originally met Wayne when he gave Waltz lessons at Atlanta Ballroom Dance Club. I love his teaching philosophy. Although we have concentrated on Waltz, Wayne teaches all ballroom dances.

This true Atlanta Dance Master, Wayne Abbey, is a certified adjudicator examiner for the United States Independent Dance Council. He is gifted at teaching and also evaluating his students. We greatly appreciate him.

On September 1, 2001 in New York City, Wayne received the Golden Apple Award at the United States Bal Championship competitionlroom Scholarship. The Golden Apple Award is an honor bestowed at the Winner’s Circle Promotions United States Ballroom Scholarship to a TEACHER displaying outstanding achievement in execution of their duties as a professional instructor. As a part of the Winner’s Circle dance “family,” teachers are not only expected to display outstanding service and consideration to their own students, but to extend that same caring and courtesy to all students and professionals while attending the competition. Friendliness and kindness to all competitors are the trademark of the Winner’s Circle events and qualities for which the Golden Apple Teacher shall be known.

Wayne Abbey gives dance lessons at several Atlanta ballroom organizations and can be reached by calling his home telephone at 678-309-9917 or 404-847-0821. His email is wayne_abbey@yahoo.com. Wayne's new website is located at www.adancecenterofatlanta.com. The best way to reach Wayne is by calling his personal telephone since it often takes some time for him to respond to emails. Wayne also gives discounts when students pay for five or more lessons at one time. He is very reasonable.

By the way, did I mention I was a dentist? If you need an Atlanta dancing dentist who loves creating beautiful smiles and making people happy, please visit my dental website at www.atlantadentist.com.
